My Bestfriend’s Wedding

While I appreciate artsy kind of films, I’m also guilty of being a fan of feel good romantic comedies. I found my sister watching My Bestfriend’s Wedding on HBO when I came home last night. And even though both of us have seen the movie several times (I first saw it way back in 1997), we stayed glued to the TV screen to the end of the movie. It’s definitely one my favorite flicks of all time. Never fails me to make laugh, cry and feel tiny butterflies in my stomach every time. This movie actually has really good lines. Here are some of my favorites:
This is my one chance at happiness. I have to be ruthless!
If you love someone, you say it, you say it right there, out loud. Otherwise the moment just passes you by.
He’s chasing her, your chasing him. Who’s chasing you? Nobody! Got it?
He has you on a pedestal and me in his arms.
She’s annoyingly perfect and when I say that I mean there is nothing annoying about her perfection, it is vulnerable and endearing, and THAT is annoying as shit. If I didn’t hate her I’d adore her.
Maybe there won’t be marriage, maybe there won’t be sex, but by God there’ll be dancing!
BTW. The first time I saw the movie, I did not realize that Rupert Everest’s character was gay, until somebody pointed it out to me. So I thought the ending was hopeful, implying that Julia Robert’s character could end up with Rupert’s. Hehehe
Wow! Parang romance is on the air for you ha. Hihihihihi. I also didn’t thought that Rupert Everett’s character was gay either. I actually identified with the guy since I had a lot of girl best friends before. Hahaha.
i find the first four lines quite strong especially if you’re able to relate with it.
have not yet watched the movie but will probably soon. will include it in my to watch list..hehe..
hey koko! ahahaha you identified with rupert’s character?!hmmm. hmmmm. hehehe
hey cathy! i agree. the first four lines are quite strong. i guess a lot of people are able to relate with these lines at some points in their lives. watch it! you’ll love it!
